$

During the month of August, Gold Coast Police will be ramping up efforts to detect offences against traffic lights, signs and road markings in the relentless bid to reduce death and injury on our roads.

Obedience of these road rules is important. They create order from chaos. They improve the efficient movement of people and goods. They set boundaries beyond which there are consequences and they create certainty so people can drive with confidence and peace of mind. They even save lives. When people ignore these rules, all of these benefits are jeopardised.

The safety of all road users remains the focus for the Queensland Police Service and drivers are reminded that police will be out in force and can be anywhere at any time.

Remember: road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
